Here at Inspiracles, we have always strived for the best quality. That’s is why some time ago we introduced metal cans as card packaging. They were more sturdy and durable, and people seemed to like them more than the regular lightweight cardboard boxes. But to be honest, the metal cans were always more of a headache for us, and we started to question their value and look for the alternative package.
The issue we had with metal can boxes was that we had to source and produce them ourselves in China. (The prices offered by European suppliers were not affordable at all). And now the production and, even more so, the logistics problems have become so acute that we can no longer plan with standard production times. The costs have also exploded, and that would mean that we would have to raise our prices.
The second issue is the environmental impact. We love our planet and want to protect it, and that is why we listened to your feedback. As much praise as we have received for the new metal can boxes, we have also received criticism for it. Unfortunately, they are not environmentally friendly, neither in production nor in transport.
For these reasons, we have looked long and hard to find a better alternative. And it’s finally here – our new and improved high-quality cardboard boxes. We’ve decided to produce cards in Europe from now on and cut down shipping time from Asia. That also means that we have more control to oversee that no harmful material is being used (we’re using only renewable raw materials now), and that the production facility is conducting fail labor standards. Of course, that also mean high-end European quality that you can see and feel when you hold the cards. They are custom-fit and made just for us. The new box is CO2 neutral printed and more sustainable. They are also smaller for the same card size. And you don’t have to worry, they are very durable and will last you for years. The only drawback is that to not lose on the quality we had to settle for higher prices, and unfortunately they are priced similarly in EK as previous metal cans.
The first customers have already received their card sets in the new packages, and we got some amazing feedback from them. To be honest, we also like them better than any old packaging.
We have a small quantity of Black and White and Night Photography card editions in the metal can boxes, and they will be available until in stock. (Classic edition will be sold out soon). The rest of the editions are already in new and improved boxes.
