GOLDEN HOUR.

Find that perfect time of the day when the sun is low in the sky and casts sparkly light on everything and take magic pictures. This month’s challenge is: Golden Hour.

Your task: Take a photo during Golden Hour in the mornings or evenings.

Although we can’t tell you the exact times because it varies depending on the season and location, roughly, the Golden Hour (or “Magic Hour” as some calls it) is the first hour of light after sunrise and the last hour of light before sunset. During these times, the sun is low in the sky, producing a soft, diffused light that is much more flattering than the harsh midday sun.

Shooting during the Golden Hour can be applied to any type of outdoor photography. It works perfectly with landscapes and city scenes as well as shoots of flowers and plants, and even certain types of still life such as cars. In portrait photography, diffused light during Golden Hour blurs imperfections and even adds the perfect touch of a glowing tan. When used as a dreamy backlight, it can evoke nostalgia and happiness, and a sense of youth.

To truly take advantage of the Golden Hour light, try shooting from different angles. By changing your position you can control haze, lens flare, and the color of the light and get by changing your position to the sun. You will be amazed by the variety of effects you can get!

Now it’s your turn! Show us your best images during Golden Hour and don’t forget to use #InspiraclesGoldenHour hashtag so that we can find your photo!
